Portsmouth's Cultural Consortium - shaping culture's future

Getting Around - Monday 20 September, 2010 - free community event 6pm till 8.45pm.

Getting Around is a community event about involving people in shaping the future of transport in and around Portsmouth.

Culture Matters (the new name for the Cultural Consortium) is organising it. The aim is to find out what your main transport problems are, to generate ideas to solve them, and to get your views on how well the strategy for transport in South Hants could make your life better. What is this "strategy"? Well it's being developed by the local authorities across South Hants, and there will be a Portsmouth-specific implementation plan.

Time: 6pm till 8.45 pm. Free refreshments and light snacks provided.

Venue: The Groundlings Theatre Company, Old Beneficial School, 42 Kent Street, Portsmouth, PO1 3BS

Note: entrance and car park in Curzon Howe Road.  There is a stair lift to the first floor. And a good amount of free parking. It's just a few minutes walk from the Hard.

This event is additional to the consultations being planned by Portsmouth City Council and Transport for South Hampshire. For details, go to http://www.portsmouth.gov.uk/17666.html  There you will see the link to the online survey for you to do. Or visit http://southampton.limehouse.co.uk/portal

If you are interested in sharing your ideas for and/or helping to design the event, there will be a short planning meeting at 5.30pm Mon 6 Sept at the Eastney Cellars, 56 Cromwell Road, Southsea, Hampshire PO4 9PN. We do hope some of you can attend.

If you wish to attend the event (so we get an idea of likely numbers), or the planning meeting, please email our administrator (provided courtesy of Portsmouth City Council) Sharon Watling (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
