Portsmouth's Cultural Consortium - shaping culture's future

Lets keep lobbying

Thank you to all of you for joining this cause and lobbying against the proposed cuts to the Cultural Services budget.

The councillors have now agreed the local authority's budget for 2010. The proposed budget was accepted with one small amendment from the Labour Party and the accepted, full budget can now be viewed at http://www.portsmouth.gov.uk/yourcouncil/17417.html

This campaign formed part of what has been described as an unprecedented level of support for Cultural Services and has despite having not impacted on the final decision, has left a powerful mark, demonstrating the collective voice of the creative community.

The next few years will continue to be challenging for Cultural Services and the many organisations, events and activities that they support across the city. Therefore it is vital that we continue to support them in the future, stay active and keep promoting culture in the City.

Hope to see you at Gloo 2 on Monday 15th at the Omega Centre, from 6-8pm.
